First Round

My team is staying at The Point for first round ('til the middle of April). We will be working at Phillips School in Laurel, MD (about half-way between Baltimore and DC).

It's going to be a tough project, but my crew can totally whip it out.

Three Day Weekend

Howdy Folks.

Just got back from a three day weekend in The City.

It was totally fun. We went to see Blue Man Group on Saturday night and to the brand new Edvard Munch exhibit at MoMA on Sunday. Both were totally awesome!

The rest of the time we just hung out around Manhattan or spent chillin' in Queens watching Family Guy. Family Guy and drinking - two things that middle-class, white, 20-somethings have in common no matter where they live in the USA. Just sayin'.

The Budget

President George W Bush's budget proposal for 2007 came out this week.

Long story short, due to proposed cuts to the Corporation for National and Community Service's budget AmeriCorps*NCCC (yes, that program I am doing right now) will no longer exist after this year.

So, if the response by citizens and legislators isn't sufficient, I will be a member of the last class of NCCC members to come out of Perry Point.

As a current member of this program, I am not lobbying... however, any interested parties may want to check out www.savenccc.org, just sayin'.
